Christmas is Coming!

We are getting ready at our house for Santa's arrival.  The Christmas tree is decorated and the stockings are hung.

 

Next on the list is a visit to see Santa.  Once again, the kids had breakfast with Santa at church where they made crafts and shared their Christmas lists with St. Nick.

 

Once again this year, we tested our decorating skills with the Milroys and McKees to see who could cover a gingerbread house with the most frosting and candy.  This has become a very fun and much anticipated tradition.  I suspect that Sarah, Colleen and I will be decorating gingerbread house together well after the kids have lost interest!

Halloween

Halloween is always a busy day at our house and this year was no exception.  Between carving pumpkins, school parties, costume parades and the annual neighborhood party followed by Trick or Treating, we were exhausted by Friday.  If schools were smart, they would make the day after Halloween a holiday!

Fall fun!

This weekend we had visitors from Lincoln!  We started the day off with some soccer.  Andy's team has had a great year with a great coach (Scott).  This was their toughest opponent of the season. It was an intense 40 minutes of soccer and we are very proud of how hard the boys battled.

After soccer, we headed to Lawrence to check out a new pumpkin patch, Schaake's Pumpkin Patch.  We played, picked out some big pumpkins and rode the hayrack.  We also enjoyed some awesome kettle corn and cider on the ride home.  It was a beautiful fall day.

To top the day off, while Scott and I enjoyed a night out, the kids made applesauce with Grandpa!  His apple pealer was a big hit...maybe even more than the applesauce. 

Keesha's Wedding

Last month, we made a road trip to Wichita to see this pretty lady get married.  Sammy was mesmerized by her pretty dress and followed her around all night.  This kids also had a blast dancing with Grandpa Mex's brothers and sister!

This week Sammy started Transitional Kindergarten.  She can't say transitional yet but she loves it, especially her new teachers!



Andy's First Day of School

Monday, August 12, was the first day of second grade with Mrs. Bell.  He was excited for some things (recess and PE) and not excited about others (the learning stuff).  It was raining, so our photo opportunities were limited.

Sammy's 5th Birthday

Sammy turned 5 this week!  The highlights of the week were Spin Pizza for dinner, Legos from her grandmas and a gymnastic birthday party.  She had a fun week and never failed to remind her brother that she got to be first at everything and make all of the decisions because it was her birthday!
