A Day Off!

Today we celebrated Scott's birthday by giving him a day off!  The kids and I went to the zoo.  We ran into some friends by the polar bears and spent the rest of the day exploring the zoo with them.  Despite a little rain, it was a great day...hopefully Scott agrees!

Day at The K

Yesterday we took the kids to watch the Royal play (and lose).  The kids didn't seem to notice between the ice cream and carousel ride.  The highlight of the day was a trip around the bases at the end of the game!

Last Day of 1st Grade!

May 23 marked the last day of First Grade for Andy.  He had a great year with a great teacher!  He is looking forward to summer, though I think he is going to miss his friends.

Summer Baseball

It's that time of the year!  Baseball has started!  It's amazing how fast they are improving.  We are having a blast watching the boys grow and learn at the game.  Their enthusiasm and excitement for a good hit or great play are priceless!

End of the Year Dance Program

Over the last year, Sammy had her first introduction to dance.  She took Pre-Dance at Bellar with Miss Sharon.  The class was an introduction to ballet, tap, gymnastics and always ended with an art project.  Sammy's favorite part was the project followed by gymnastics.  We have been treated to a daily exhibition of cart wheels, summersaults and bridges throughout the year.  Last week we had a chance to see her in action with her class.  Instead of a recital, families are invited to the last class of the year where the girls show off their stuff!  Sammy makes a very beautiful ballerina.  Unfortunately, she takes after her mom and isn't interested in any more dance.  She does, however, want to continue gymnastics!

Pre-K Open House

Sammy recently had her Pre-K Open House.  We were treated to some songs and donuts.  We also had the oppurtunity to check out her artwork from throughout the year.  She is super excited to move up to Transitional Kindergarten in the fall, but she will miss all of her wonderful little friends from Preschool as they move on to Kindergarten.

Pre-K Field Trip

Yesterday, Scott drove Sammy and 2 of her classmates to their class field trip at the Lakeside Nature Center near the Kansas City Zoo. They started off with snacks before heading inside to learn about and see an owl, a tiny baby possum, and a snake (Sammy even worked up the courage to touch it). Both had a great time!
