This summer, we returned for the fourth time to our happy place in southern Florida.

This year we tried something new.  We chartered a catamaran and spent an afternoon sailing to various private islands for shelling and dolphin watching.  We came home with some great shells and sand dollars.  It was a big hit with the whole family.  Looks like we're going to have to make this a regular thing!

Backyard Camping

This summer the kids went camping for the first time.  Since it was our first time and the weather was consistently rainy this summer, we camped in the backyard.  We had the required hot dogs and s'mores, followed by a movie on the iPad in the tent.  The kids thought it was awesome, I thought it was too hot.

On the 4th, we drove over to Grandview to check out their new rope park.  Their favorite part was pretending they were competing on America Ninja Warrior where they had to make it from one end of the park to the other without touching the ground.   The kids can't wait to go back!

4th of July

The 4th of July is always a fun day in our neighborhood!  Again this year, we were up early to set up for the party and decorate our bikes.  We continued our traditions this year with the parade, games, water balloons and fireworks with our neighbors.
