Pumpkin Patch

Today was the annual trip to the pumpkin patch.  This was the first year they both made the walk all the way out to pick up their pumpkins and then back without whining!  Amazing!

1st Grade Field Trip

Last week, the first grade had their first field trip.  We went to Johnson Farms for pumpkins, baby animals and play time.  The kids had a blast, plus I was responsible for four (including Andy) and I didn't lose any of them!

First Day of School

On August 13th, Andy started First Grade at Trailwood.  He has a great class and he loves his teacher, Mrs. Warren.

Sammy's 4th Birthday!

On August 7th, we celebrated Sammy's 4th birthday.  We started the day with a special doughnut breakfast, followed by a trip to the mall and the American Girl store.  As a special surprise, we let her pick out her first American Girl doll.  After some strong Olympic influence, she picked McKenna, the gymnastics doll.  The girls and Andy now put on evening "performances".

Later that afternoon, we had a party at the park with her friends.  They had a blast playing and eating Cinderella cake.  Overall, I would say she had a great birthday and loves being 4.  She is convinced that she even grew in her sleep overnight!

Colorado

At the beginning of August, we took the kids on their first trip to the mountains.  After a little adjustment to the altitude, the kids enjoy themselves.  They were not big fans of hiking or biking in the rain.  They did enjoy rock collecting, the Breckenridge Fun Park, our boat ride across Dillion Lake and the Leadville Train ride.

All Star Game Fan Fest

This year, the annual All Star Game came to KC.  We took the kids downtown to check out Fan Fest.

Grass Heads

These hats were very popular. We "won" our hats early in the day at the Taco Bell steal a base exhibit. They quickly ran out of hats. The rest of the day, we were asked where we got the hats and Andy was even offered $20 for his. Unbelievably, he said no!
