On Sunday, we took advantage of some free M&I tickets and took the kids to a Royals game. To sum it up, it was really hot and they lost to a really bad Twins team. On the bright side, Andy picked up a new Royals t-shirt, featuring his "favorite" guy, Alex Gordon (a fellow lefty!).

Cousin's Day
This was a very exciting weekend for the kids...their cousins came to visit! It was a crazy day of donuts, Jiggle Jam and birthday cake. It took us the rest of the weekend to recover from all the excitement and sugar.

Preschool Open House
This morning, Andy's preschool class held an Open House for the kids' parents. The program included songs about the seasons, the months of the year, the days of the week (with a Spanish version!) and a number poem... Andy was the number 8. At the end of the show they received their preschool diplomas too!

Andy's Lakeside Nature Center Field Trip
This morning Scott took a half day off of work to drive Andy and 3 of his classmates to their class field trip to the Lakeside Nature Center near the Kansas City Zoo. They started off with snacks before heading inside to hear about and see a baby owl, a snake (both Andy and Scott "got" to touch it) and a pair of tiny tree frogs. Both boys had a great time and I think even learned something, too!

Happy Easter!
It was a great Easter weekend at the Cooper house! Friday night we dyed the eggs (and our hands) some pretty awesome colors. My favorite are the ones that turned out brown after being dipped in multiple color baths.
On Saturday, in the middle of the Cooper mulching marathon, we headed over to the gym for an Easter Egg Hunt. Both kids have vastly improved their egg hunting skills from last year. It was a challenge to get good pictures of the actual hunt, it was over before I could focus the camera.
Sunday morning the kids were "super excited" to discover that the Easter bunny made a stop at our house. They exhibited some impressive teamwork finding all the eggs, including a few backyard ones.

The Trolley Run
This morning, Andy participated in his first Trolley Run. The kids portion consisted of approximately a 30 yard course. He ran down and back to earn his blue "winners" ribbon. He also received a race t-shirt and number, just like Mommy and Daddy! The festivies also included a magician, the Chiefs' and T-Bones' mascots, balloons, and treats. Plus, the Plaza has Easter bunnies on display, which were a big hit with both kids (but especially Sammy).
