Hello Kitty Birthday

Over the weekend, we celebrated Sammy's 3rd birthday a little early. She invited five of her little friends and all of her grandparents over for a Hello Kitty Party. The girls (and big brother, Andy) had a great time running around the backyard, swimming and eating ice cream cake.

Chicago and Grandpa's Birthday

Last week, Grandpa and Grandma treated us to a trip to Chicago. Grandpa wanted a Chicago Dog at Wrigley Field for his birthday and we were happy to join him.

Our trip began at Union Station where we boarded the Amtrak to Chicago. Between movies and trips to the observation car, it turned out to be a fun and relaxing 7 hour trip. In Chicago, we stayed downtown and took in all the sites. Besides the Cub's game, we rode the carousel at Navy Pier, checked out the top of the Willis Tower, spend a day at the Shedd Aquarium, visited Sue at the Field Museum, took the water taxi down the Chicago River and played in Crown Fountain.

We had great weather and so much fun checking out Chicago with Grandma and Grandpa. According to Andy, "It was AWESOME!".

4th of July

We celebrated the 4th again this year at our annual neighborhood party. The festivities included the parade, games, water balloons, snow cones and a bouncy house. The kids were wore out after a day of running, riding and bouncing!

After a almost a week with temps in the 90's, we got a little break from the heat today. We took advantage of the weather and holiday weekend to enjoy dinner on the patio followed by S'mores. It was no surprise that these were a big hit with the kids.
